How the figures are collected
Each price is read by hand from the vendor’s own pricing page, from a UK connection, and recorded with the page’s address and the date. A monitor revisits every pricing page monthly and flags anything that no longer matches; a flagged price is confirmed by a person before it changes, and the change is logged on the price changelog. The findings on the pricing index are drawn from this same data. More detail is on the methodology page.
Common questions
Can I use this data in an article, report or product?
Yes, including commercially. It is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0): credit CheckedStack and link to checkedstack.com, for example "Source: CheckedStack (checkedstack.com)".
How often is it updated?
The files are rebuilt every time the site is, so they always match the pages. Each vendor's pricing page is checked monthly, and confirmed changes are logged on the price changelog. The most recent check was on 24 September 2026.
Why are some prices in dollars or euros?
Each price is recorded in the currency the vendor shows a UK visitor, exactly as published. The approx_gbp_monthly column converts it to pounds at the European Central Bank reference rate; a card is charged at the bank’s own rate.
